Students Mason Fanton, Ava Cole, and Rebecca Maddox earn funding for higher education

At recent meetings, the Wellsville Business and Professional Women awarded three $500 scholarships.
The BPW Club awarded a $500 Adult Learner Scholarship to Rebecca Maddox. Rebecca, from Wellsville, works as the Volunteer Coordinator at the Hart Comfort House. Rebecca has been working on her Master’s degree in English Literature and Fiction Publication from Southern New Hampshire University.
Two $500 scholarships each were awarded to Mason Fanton who graduated from Genesee Valley Central School and Ava Cole who graduated from Wellsville High School. Mason Fanton will be studying Agricultural and Heavy Diesel Technologies at the University of Northwestern Ohio for a degree in Agricultural Equipment Technology. Ava Cole will be working to achieve her degree in Business at the University of Alabama.
The Wellsville Business and Professional Women Club was started in 1924 by four women and today they have about 20 active members from Wellsville and surrounding towns. The BPW club consists of the Olive Twig of the Jones Memorial Hospital. BPW scholarships have been given every year since 1969 to help high school graduates attend college.
