An inmate from Corning NY attacks fellow prisoner, causing injury

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on August 16, 2026, Deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Daniel L. Beal, age 57, of Edgecreek Trail, Rochester, New York, following an investigation into a reported assault of an inmate in the Steuben County Jail. It is alleged that Mr. Beal, currently incarcerated, assaulted another inmate, causing injury. Mr. Beal is charged with Assault in the Second Degree, a class D Felony. Mr. Beal was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and returned to the Steuben County Jail.
The victim of the assault was treated by jail medical staff.

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on August 16, 2026, Deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jonathan A. Rivaldo, age 29, of Chestnut Street, Corning, New York, following an investigation into an alleged assault by an inmate in the Steuben County Jail.
It is alleged that Mr. Rivaldo, currently incarcerated, assaulted another inmate, causing injury. Mr. Rivaldo is charged with Assault in the Second Degree, a class D Felony. Mr. Rivaldo was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and returned to the Steuben County Jail without bail.
The victim was treated by Jail Medical Staff.
