Bolivar-Richburg Central announces Class of 2024 Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Class President Kori Thomas is top student with a 98.78% GPA, headed to Clarkson University and the US Air Force

Zachary Mitchell takes Salutatorian spot with 97.24% GPA

Kori Thomas, daughter of Amy Thomas and Jonathan Thomas, has been announced as the Bolivar-Richburg Class of 2024 Valedictorian, with a cumulative grade point average of 98.78%. 

Kori has received numerous academic honors and awards including: NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete awards and top honors in many classes. She is a National Honor Society member who has received the Superintendent’s Award and high honor roll throughout her entire high school career. 

In terms of extracurricular activities, Kori is a three-sport varsity athlete participating on the volleyball, indoor and outdoor track and field teams.  Kori’s interests include: spending time with her dog, family, and friends. She loves Stewart’s Shops Lemonade and peanut butter M&M’s. Kori also devotes her time and talents as a lifeguard at the town pool and volunteers at the Wellsville American Legion. She holds the position of president of the Senior class as well as president of National Honor Society.  

In the fall of 2024, Kori will attend Clarkson University to major in Mechanical Engineering, where she has earned a full scholarship. She has also earned an Air Force ROTC scholarship. Kori will commit to Clarkson’s Air Force ROTC detachment where she will be trained in military and leadership studies in order to serve and commission as an officer in the Air Force after she graduates from college.  

Mitchell named 2024 Salutatorian    

ZACHARY MITCHELL, son of Meghan and Robert Mitchell, will be recognized as the 2024 Salutatorian at Bolivar-Richburg’s graduation ceremony on June 30th, 2024, with a cumulative grade point average of 97.24%.

Zachary’s academic awards and honors include: the Bausch and Lomb Science Award, the Rensselaer Medal Award, the RIT Creativity and Innovation Award, the JCC College Connection – Junior of the Year Award, the Elmira Key Award, the St. Bonaventure Bonnie Award, Scholar Athlete Award, and the BRCS NYS Academic Excellence Award. He is a member of the National Honor Society, and he has received the Superintendent’s Scholar Award and high honor roll recognition throughout high school. 

He is a star athlete for the varsity football and wrestling teams. Zach has been recognized throughout the Western New York region for his football talent. He received honorable mention for the all-state football team and made the Big 30 all-star game. He devotes his spare time to weight-lifting and personal fitness.  He also volunteers in his community assisting with youth programs as well as the elderly. 

 Zach plans to attend either Penn State University or Rensselaer to study chemical engineering.
