Revisiting the Declaration of Independence

As we approach the anniversary of a day in history , April 19th 1775, when the ‘shot heard around the world’ was fired, it marks the first military action (Lexington Concord) of the American Revolution. We are also reminded of the upcoming 250th anniversary (1776 – 2026) of the Declaration of Independence that set in motion one of the greatest constitutional experiments in human history. It is a declaration that still resounds in the spirit of the Unites States of America; “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” Self evident truths protecting unalienable rights remain as the passion for independence and personal freedom that continue to stoke the spirit of America. The founding inspiration is now, once again, taking hold and will lead us away from a society that has grown to threaten life, compromise liberty and capitalize happiness.
Bi-partisan congressional hearings are being held to investigate: past assassinations, secretive ‘deep state’ activities, programs that illegally siphon off billions in federal dollars, the illegal financing of unauthorized ‘black’ projects, and industry cartels that have captured agencies and even government itself. There is a reeling in of intelligence agencies that have been out of control, hiding under the guise of National Security and shape politics at home and abroad that cater to secret agendas. However, new officials at the head of agencies and policy changes are seeking to make known the unknown and restore the security and rights of the citizenry. There are efforts to let doctors get back to freedom in practicing medicine and get the chemical poisons out of our food, water and the air we breathe. Education is being turned back over to the states bringing back the home rule taken away in the recent past. Chronic disease is the target of a special commission and autism is finally being studied to identify the cause and exploding rate in numbers of children affected. These are but a few examples of how the sun is rising on a reinvigorated America.
Whatever our political alliances happen to be, there can be no denying that there has to be new direction set and action, taken. This newly revived vision for America will involve not only individuals but also requires forming a collective unified citizenry. Resources need to be reallocated to meet domestic needs and challenges such as disaster readiness, organized response and reconstruction. A healthful living environment and good quality food, water, and air must be held as a priority over profit, wealth and power. Advanced sources of energy will lay the foundation for success and survival. Old energy paradigms of combustion, outdated nuclear technologies, inefficient attempts at sustainability and fragile distribution networks, will be phased out. The creative genius of a free humanity can and will advance not only in energy technologies but also societal programs and a governance that will continue the vision for America that was forged by the founding fathers. The structure of our Constitutional Republic survives and remains in the ready for our nation return to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. It is up to ‘We the People’.
