A special winter solstice gathering for those grieving during the holiday season

 By Mary Gardner-Ruch

As we approach Christmas, many are getting ready for celebrations.  But what if you feel like a blue Christmas instead of a white one?  For those who are grieving, the holidays can be depressing and filled with anxiety.

Gathering with others who have experienced loss may help.  According to Grief Support Services, “Sometimes those who have been through similar circumstances can provide us with the most meaningful support at this time of year.”

Grace United Church invites you to join them on the longest night of the year as losses are mourned and together strength and hope are found in God.  In this candlelit service, prayers will be offered, glittering stars will be hung for the ones remembered, and scripture will be read.

The service takes place December 21st at 7:00 pm at Grace United Church located at 289 N. Main Street in Wellsville.
