Details are very limited but a vehicle explosion at a secondary security checkpoint has all the hallmarks of a suicide bombing attack. A vehicle approached the international border crossing, crashed the vehicle and an explosion occurred. Bomb squads have responded to that explosion and other suspicous packages involved.
NY Governor Kathy Hochul is headed to Buffalo:
“I have been briefed on the situation that occurred at the Rainbow Bridge in Buffalo. At my direction, the New York State Police is actively working with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force to monitor all points of entry to New York. I am traveling to Buffalo to meet with law enforcement and emergency responders and will update New Yorkers when more information becomes available.”
Law enforcement is on high alert in NY and Washington DC.
This is a developing story which will be updated as information is available.
