County policy updates and coroner items should be interesting

By Andrew Harris,

A full gathering of Allegany County leadership is planned for 10am tomorrow morning in Belmont in the Legislative chambers. This is a public meeting and also all open meetings are live streamed on the Allegany County Facebook page.

This week’s agenda is below and of interest, besides the general policy update from County Attorney Allison Carrow, will be addressing the “Coroners Local Law.” In April of this year, longtime Allegany County coroner Maynard “Bud” Baker, filed an age discrimination complaint against Allegany County.

Ahead of the meeting we asked Baker for an update on his complaint:

“Everything is in process, the state assigned a case worker, and the matter is moving forward.”
