Cuba cracks down on cannabis sales without a license at “Puffin Dragon”

Two arrested for misdemeanor crimes after search warrant

Today at approximately 11:00 a.m. members of the Cuba Police Department executed a search warrant at the “Puffin Dragon” business located at 5224 State Route 305 in Cuba. The search warrant was from a culmination of complaints from the citizens of Cuba and information from tips as well as police operations. Cuba Police entered the “Puffin Dragon” located at 5224 State Route 305 and seized cash, several pounds of marijuana and edibles containing marijuana. This business does not possess a license to legally sell marijuana and the amounts possessed exceed the legal limit for personal use. At this time, there are no businesses in the Town or Village of Cuba that possess a license from the New York State Office of Cannabis Management to legally sell marijuana. Additional charges are pending.

The Cuba Police Department will continue to investigate these types of businesses. The following arrests were made in relation to this search warrant: Female (39) of Cuba was charged criminal possession of cannabis 3rd (Class A Misdemeanor). Male (43) of Cuba was charged with criminal possession of cannabis 3rd (Class A Misdemeanor). Both are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
