Honoring and remembering the man who earned legendary status with kindness

Two years ago, Pat McKinley Day was established in the village of Wellsville by Mayor Randy Shayler. Not everyone has a special local holiday in thier honor, but the “Captain” was a special guy.
On April 12, 2021; friends, family, and local officials gathered around McKinley as he fought his last days of a long battle with cancer. A grateful little village was able to personally thank a guy who, for his entire life, thrived from helping others. Captain passed away shortly after the event was held but not before Wellsville gave him a big round of applause and a perpetual honor. As one of his best pals, it was magic to see him come to a realization that his life had great meaning and accomplishment.
Pat maybe gone but his spirit of service lives on and his is sorely missed. Below you can read more about April 12, Pat, and some tributes to his life:
