The first-ever Wellsville varsity cheerleading team to win a Section V championship earned enough points to advance to the state championships today.

Giant Food Mart makes our sports reporting possible

The team performs at 4:03 p.m., said coach Liz Huyler, and they left on Friday for Visions Federal Credit Union Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton.

On Thursday before a full capacity gym at the elementary school, the cheerleaders performed their routine for the community.

Above is a video of the performance and an interview with the four seniors, Alyssa Dorrough, Bella Sparatta, Ashley Whitney and Emma Dunaway.

The other team members are Lily Ball, Madison Thompson, Kyleigh Morris, Marissa Weinhauer, Carissa White, Morgan Mattison, Eryn McDowell, Skylar Shutt, Abbie Lanphier, Lizzy Seely, Grace Howe, Ava Cole and Addy Clark.
