Meeting at 1:15pm in the Legislative Chambers

Congressman Langworthy plans to hold a roundtable meeting in the Legislative Board Chambers in the County Office Building at 7 Court Street in Belmont on Thursday, February 23, at 1:15 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss issues facing Allegany County.
The meeting is open to the public and will be livestreamed via the Allegany County Facebook page.
Langworthy has been very busy since taking office in the new 23rd Congressional District. Yesterday his office announced that he has been placed on several key House Agriculture Sub-Committees:
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Nick Langworthy has been assigned the following subcommittees on the House Agriculture Committee:
- Subcommittee on Commodity Markets, Digital Assets, and Rural Development
- Tasked with policies, statutes, and markets relating to commodity exchanges; rural development; energy; rural electrification; and related oversight of such issues.
- Subcommittee on Nutrition, Foreign Agriculture, and Horticulture
- Tasked with policies, statutes, and markets relating to horticulture, including fruits, vegetables, nuts, and ornamentals; bees; and organic agriculture; policies and statutes relating to marketing and promotion orders; policies and statutes relating to nutrition, including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and domestic commodity distribution and consumer initiative; policies and statutes related to foreign agricultural assistance and trade promotion; and related oversight of such issues.
