Once Barbara Walters shed the title of a pioneer and a trailblazer, she was simply known as the best television journalist.
On Friday night, Walters died at age 93.
A statement to CNN from Walters’ spokesperson Cindi Berger said, “Barbara Walters passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones. She lived her life with no regrets. She was a trailblazer not only for female journalists but for all women.”
Walters was best known for her work on ABC news as The Barbara Walters Special was must-see TV. She also had segments on 20/20, The “Today Show and an anchor on the ABC Nightly News.
Her last full-time job was on The View until 2014.
