Regional Police Activity, NY & PA State Trooper arrests

Pennsylvania State Troopers

Coudersport-based state police Thursday morning arrested Blaze David Harrison, 20, of Allegany stemming from an incident in Coudersport Borough. Troopers charged the man with felony criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Arraigned by Magisterial District Judge James Hawkins at 9:10 a.m., Harrison was remanded to Potter County Jail when he couldn’t post 10% of $5,000 cash bail. The judge ordered a preliminary hearing for January 5th at 10 a.m.

After investigating a complaint in Genesee Township, Pennsylvania State Police arrested a 28-year-old man from Genesee. Troopers charged him with harassment with physical contact and simple assault. Arraigned in District Court Thursday morning, the man was committed to Potter County Jail when he couldn’t post 10% of $5,000 bail. He’ll return to court on January 10th.

Responding to a violent scene in Oswayo Borough, Pennsylvania Troopers arrested William E. Shelley, 28, of Olean. He was charged with felony strangulation and lesser counts of simple assault and harassment with physical contact. Arraigned in court, he was remanded to Potter County Jail with bail set at 10% of $20,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 10th before District Judge Kari McCleaft.

NYS Troopers

During a traffic stop in the Town of Birdsall, state police arrested a 54-year-old man from Arkport. He was charged with driving while intoxicated as a first offense. He’ll appear in court at a later date.

Responding to a sex offense in the Town of Bath, state police arrested a 20-year-old woman from Bath. She was charged with making a false written statement. She was issued an appearance ticket for court and released.

State Police arrested 29-year-old Edward Pearce of Rochester following a reported violation of an order of protection in the Town of Avoca. Troopers charged him with felony first-degree criminal contempt. He was initially detained.
