2022 Capital Improvements Project To be held October 11, 2022

NOTICE OF SPECIAL DISTRICT MEETING To be held October 18, 2022 Whitesville Central School District, Allegany and Steuben County, New York

The Board of Education of Whitesville Central School, HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that a public information meeting to inform the public of the proposed Capital Improvements Project. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 11, 2022 in the Whitesville Central School District Office at 6:30 PM. The scope of the building project will be presented to the public; and NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that a Special District Meeting of the qualified voters of said School District will be held at Whitesville Central School, 692 Main Street, in Whitesville, New York on October 18, 2022, in the Big Gymnasium for the purpose of voting by paper ballot upon the proposition hereinafter set forth. Polls for the purpose of voting will be kept open between the hours of 12:00 Noon and 8:00 PM.

PROPOSITION CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT

Shall the following resolution be adopted:

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of Whitesville Central School District is hereby authorized to reconstruct and construct improvements to school district facilities, including site improvements, original furnishings and equipment and costs incidental thereto, at a maximum estimated cost of $3,000,000; that $212,000 capital reserve fund monies and $788,000 of fund balance shall be expended therefore, and providing that the remaining $2,000,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary, shall be raised by the levy of a tax upon the taxable property of said School District and collected in annual installments as provided by Section 416 of the Education Law; and in anticipation of such tax, obligations of said School District shall be issued.

Such capital project has been determined to constitute a Type II Action as defined under regulations of the State of New York promulgated pursuant to the State Environmental Quality Review Act which, by such definition, will not have a significant adverse impact upon the environment. Absentee ballots are available for those who are permanently disabled or unable to attend due to work, school, military obligations or personal vacation. A letter signed by the voter requesting an absentee ballot must be received by the District Clerk not later than October 11, 2022.
