Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Niagara County resident and an Allegany County resident on felony grand larceny charges following an investigation.

On August 22nd, 2022 at approximately 2:30pm Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a business in the Genesee Valley Plaza, in the Town of Geneseo, for the reported larceny investigation. The investigation resulted in Deputies developing two suspects who were identified as Adrianna T. Frerichs, age 20 of Wilson, NY and Rachel M. Doezema, age 21 of Houghton, NY. Following the investigation, it was discovered that Frerichs and Doezema had both taken part in stealing approximately 90 items, valued at over $1,000, from the business.

Frerichs and Doezema were both arrested and charged with one count each of felony Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, and one count each of Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree.

Frerichs and Doezema were transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing. The District Attorney’s Office was contacted in regards to bail due to the felony level charges. It was recommended that both be released with an appearance ticket, as the charges did not qualify for bail under the NYS Justice Reform Act.

As a result, both Frerichs and Doezema were issued appearance tickets and released with a future court date.

Investigating members for the Sheriff’s Office included Deputy Hudson Vasile of the Patrol Division and Investigator Matt Orman of the Criminal Investigations Division.
