A partnership begins!

Brenda Szabo, VP of Specialty Services at Jones Memorial, Rheumatologist Dr. James VanDeWall, and Jones CEO Jim Helms have announced a partnership between the hospital and Southern Tier Arthritis & Rheumatism to provide rheumatology care in Olean and Hornell.

UR|Jones Memorial Hospital has announced the return of Rheumatology to the services offered by the hospital beginning on June 2.

Through a partnership with Southern Tier Arthritis & Rheumatism, James VanDeWall, MD, and Josephine Raab, ANP-C will provide rheumatology care at the Jones Memorial offices located in both Olean and Hornell. New patients are welcome with physician referral.

“This partnership will increase access for this needed service in the Southern Tier,” said Brenda Mong Szabo, Vice President of Specialty Services at Jones. A rheumatologist is an internist with additional training in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases that affect the muscles, bones, joints, ligaments, and tendons.

“We are working closely with the team at Jones Memorial to ensure this is a smooth transition for our patients,” said Dr. VanDeWall. “This partnership provides them with access to the University of Rochester Medical Center, one of the top academic medical centers in our state with specialty services that are not available anywhere else in our region.”

“We are very excited to be partnering with Dr. VanDeWall and his team of professionals,” said Jim Helms, President and chief executive officer at Jones Memorial.  “Dr. VanDeWall was a past member of the UR medical staff and we are pleased to have him back on staff.  We believe that by working together we can increase access to this service for the benefit of Cattaraugus, Allegany and Steuben County residents.”

Patients with clinical appointments in Olean will continue to be seen at 415 North 8th Street in Olean.  However, if the treatment plan includes infusion therapy, that service will be provided at the Wilmot Infusion Center located at 1504 West State Street in Olean.

Patients in Hornell will be seen at the Hornell Medical Office Building, Suite 114, 7309 Seneca Road North in Hornell for clinic visits and for infusion therapy.

For appointments, please talk to your healthcare provider about a referral. For more information, call (716) 372-9399.
