Gravesite tradition honors those who died in war
On Monday, May 23, 2022 Legionnaires, community members, and Andover students placed 485 flags at various cemeteries in advance of the Memorial Day Ceremonies.
As pictured above, Michael Jackson, and those under his command, led the charge at the Hillside and Gates of Heaven cemeteries.
Andover NY has long been known for being as patriotic as possible. The little town has many veterans and has lost many citizens to war since WWI.
