This Saturday, all over the nation, peaceful rallies and marches will be held in yet another attempt to end the scourge of gun violence in America. “March For Our Lives,” was born from the Parkland, Florida school shooting in 2018 and continues to be a national movement.

In the wake of recent mass shootings, a national day of action on June 11th was recently announced:

” March For Our Lives is marching once again on June 11, 2022. After countless mass shootings and instances of gun violence in our communities, it’s time to take back to the streets and march for our lives. We marched in 2018 after the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas in Parkland, Florida, and now we’re headed back to DC. Join us on June 11th in Washington, D.C., or in one of our hundreds of local marches on the same day, across the nation.”

Allegany County organizers have joined the list of over 300 planned events across the country this Saturday:

“Please attend our March and Rally on Sat., June 11th. We’ll meet up in Wellsville (at the Island Park main parking lot off Rt. 417) at 10:00 am. Bring a sign with you, or make one when you arrive. At 10:30 we’ll begin our march to the Fassett Greenspace and rally there at 11:00, then march back to our vehicles. Join us in promoting common sense gun safety and policies to save lives.”
