During a boys’ basketball game against Hornell on Friday, Wellsville Athletic Director Erica Aftuck went up as a flyer as the cheerleaders held her and she threw t-shirts to the student section.

On Saturday night, the boys said “you did it for the girls game, you have to do the same for our game.”

Aftuck, who ran the student council for years and took Spirit Week to another level, had to say yes.

However, she had no idea what was going to happen next.

Back in the summer, a photographer showed up to shoot the sports teams, soccer and cheerleaders at the football field. To help the photographer get the lighting set, she laid down on the big orange W and posed with the pom pon’s.

The students put that funny photo on t-shirts, rolled them up and put a rubber band on them. On Saturday night, as the cheerleaders lifted Aftuck in the air, they handed her the t-shirts and she threw them to the crowd.

Students were laughing and fighting for them, putting them on as soon as they caught them. When the cheerleaders let her down, she saw what she was throwing the students, t-shirts with her posing as a cheerleader!

Like the good sport she is, Aftuck took a photo with the guilty parties who pulled off the prank – the entire cheerleading squad the student section.

This is what was on the t-shirts.
