The area remains under a Wind Advisory until 7pm and already utility crews are out in the field. As of 3 a.m., 69 customers were impacted in Allegany County. Those areas include Andover and Wellsville. Restoration is expected in a few hours. Meanwhile NYSEG reports 11 outages confined to the Town of Ward.

No restoration time is available. The National Weather Service expected more scattered outages throughout the day.

Power outage safety from National Grid:

  • Customers who depend on electrically powered life support equipment, such as a respirator, should contact us at 1-800-642-4272 for information on requesting designation as a life support customer. (In a medical emergency, always dial 911.)
  • If you lose power, turn off any appliances that were on when the power went off, but leave one light on so you will know when power is restored.
  • Be sure to check on elderly family members, neighbors and others who may need assistance during an outage.
