The Allegany-Cattaraugus-Chautauqua Fund For Women (ACC FFW) announced today that its annual holiday plant sale saw a record number of sales, with proceeds directly benefiting the organization’s grant making activity for 2022.
Across the three counties of the Southern Tier, 470 plants were sold. These include plants purchased as donations to care facilities and 110 plants, purchased by an anonymous donor, to be distributed by Meals on Wheels in the Wellsville area.
According to Melissa Jusianiec, the Fund’s President, “After a quieter year in 2020 due to the pandemic, we are grateful for the outpouring of generosity toward the Fund for Women and to residents of local care facilities & recipients of Meals on Wheels. We’re thrilled to share that 40% of all plant orders included a plant donation to a local care facility or Meals on Wheels – benefitting women in need through 2022 grants and spreading cheer through plant donations.”
The ACC FFW was established as a resource to provide financial assistance and open doors for women seeking continued betterment. The organization awards grants annually to women who are striving for financial self-sufficiency. The annual holiday plant sale is one of the biggest fundraisers for each following year’s grant making.
All holiday plant purchasers will receive an email with the date and location that plants will be available.
