A Sigh of Relief for the Town of Alma NY

From Shaun Taylor, Acting Town Supervisor

The town of Alma held it’s monthly meeting 10/5. This is the first meeting since the resignation of former town supervisor Ron Staedt dated 9/14.

Town Officials discussed some new goals of bringing back needed stability to the town. Also highlighted were plans to get back to a working relationship between the town board and highway dept. Several residents noted a less toxic environment during the meeting, this is a huge step in making changes to get the trust of our community back.

One obstacle was cleared when we secured our Public Officials insurance coverage, which had previously been let on by other sources that we were unable to obtain, This was possible by working closely with our insurance carrier and renewed communication between the supervisor and board positions. This clears the way for us to move forward with other pressing matters such as the 2022 budget and concentrate on clearing legal issues that have plagued the town for too long. With the insurance in place it has also been announced that board has appointed a new member to fill the empty seat vacated by the resignation of Vincent Bock.

This brings the Board back to full strength We are determined to work together as a cohesive unit and we will do our best to work for the greater good for the people we serve. We have already started to see positive feedback from some locals and we will do our very best to bring this town back together and heal the wounds that have tore this town apart. For the remainder of this year we will also work to eradicate any remaining turmoil that will cause any undesirable effects on The Town Of Alma.

It’s a new day everyone!!
