Gamma Pi sorority members recently presented a check for $2000 to Kathy Hamlin of Allegany County Cancer Services
From Gamma Pi,
Members of the Gamma Pi sorority of Wellsville, a local chapter of the International Sorority Beta Sigma Phi, recently had the honor of presenting a donation to Allegany County Cancer Services. The check was presented to Cancer Services representative Kathy Hamlin on Tuesday, April 14.
The contribution was made possible through Gamma Pi’s fundraising efforts held throughout the year. As a service organization, Gamma Pi’s motto: Life, Learning, and Friendship, guides its commitment to giving back to the community through charitable outreach and support.
In addition to supporting Allegany County Cancer Services, the local Gamma Pi chapter raised funds for the Beta Sigma Phi scholarship program and continues to provide financial support to scholarship recipients prior to receiving their awards. The sorority has also contributed funds to assist a local graduating female entering the armed services.
Those presenting the donation were Chapter Vice President Shawna Peterson, Treasurer Teresa Uganski, Secretary Nancy Johnson, City Council Representative Nancy Driscoll, and members Heidi Jordan, Makenna Galusha, Nancy Mattison, and Angie Black.
