Invitation for Bids for “repair, alteration, and addition” by October 7, Budget Hearing is October 20

SECTION 00100 – INVITATION FOR BIDS

The Belmont Fire District invites sealed bids for the repair, alteration and addition to the Belmont Fire District project located at 5184 State Route 244, Belmont NY.

Bids will be received until 3:00 PM on the 7^th day of October 2026 at the Belmont Fire District building, 5184 State Route 244, Belmont, New York 14813, at which time all proposals shall be publicly opened and read aloud.

The project includes the 2,800 square-feet renovation/alteration of the 8,300 square foot existing onestory building. This renovation/alteration includes the conversion of existing office and meeting space into an equipment garage. The 832 square-foot one-story addition will house new office space.

Proposals in excess of $20,000 must be accompanied by either a Bid Bond issued by a surety company which shall insure the Authority/Company to the extent of ten percent (10%) of the Proposal, or a certified check to be used by the Authority/Company to insure the Authority/Company in lieu of a bid bond to the extent Of five percent (5%) of the Proposal. Unsuccessful bidders who have submitted certified checks in lieu of a bid bond shall have the check returned to them no later than sixty (60) days after the bid opening.

On all contracts over $20,000 the successful bidder shall, within ten (10) days of award of Contract, deliver to the Authority/Company an executed Performance Bond for one hundred percent (100%) of the accepted bid as surety for the faithful performance of the Contract and an executed Payment Bond for one hundred percent (100%) of the accepted bid as surety for the payment of all persons performing labor or furnishing materials in connection therewith.

Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained on or after 3:00 PM on Monday, September 23^rd 2026, by depositing $300.00 with JHL/Tecture pc, 97 Main street, Hornell NY 14843, (607) 324-4329, for each set of documents requested. Contract Documents are available at no cost online. Contractors returning the sets in acceptable/good condition will be refunded the full payment. No refunds will be made unless the sets are acceptable and returned within thirty (30) days after the bid opening date.

A pre-bid conference and walkthrough will be held at 10:00 AM on September 30th 2026, at the site. It is highly recommended that all bidders attend the on-site pre-bid conference and fully review all contract documents prior to the pre-bid conference and walkthrough.

The Belmont Fire District reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Each bid shall be submitted on the Bid Proposal form provided. All blank spaces for bid prices must be filled in, in ink or typewritten in both words and figures.

No bids shall be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days, subsequent to the delivery of bids, without the consent of The Belmont Fire District.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the proposed budget for the year 2027 of the Belmont Fire District of the County of Allegany and State of New York has been adopted by the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Belmont Fire District.

A PUBLIC HEARING will be held at the Belmont Fire Station, 5184 Rt 244,

Belmont, New York 14813 on October 20, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.

Pursuant to Town Law §181, the Board of Fire Commissioners shall hold a public hearing to discuss the contents of the proposed budget. At such hearing, any person may be heard in favor of or against the proposed budget as compiled, or for or against any item or items therein contained.

A copy of the proposed budget is available at the Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Amity at the Amity Town Hall, 1 Schuyler Street, Belmont, New York 14813 or at the Office of the Fire District Secretary at the Belmont Fire Station, 5184 Rt 244,
