The founder of “Exploring the Western NY Wilds” will speak about invasive species to the Allegany County Bird Club, FREE and OPEN to the public!
Wellsville Sun nature columnist Bob Confer will be speaking to the Allegany County Bird Club on Friday, May 1st at 6pm, hosted by the Grace United Church on Main Street.
His presentation —“Invasive species and their impact on Allegany County” – will be about invasive species found in woods and wetlands of Allegany County that are having, or could have, a significant negative impact on those environments and the wildlife that live within them. He will discuss what these threats have meant to trees like ash, beech, and hemlock and the creatures that need them, from thrushes to warblers and bears to brook trout.
The public is welcome to attend. The meeting begins at 6:00 PM and will be held at Grace United Church, 289 North Main Street, Wellsville.
