Sheriff and parent seeks to ease public concern over reported threat

The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office has been actively involved with the investigation into a threat made within the Wellsville School District.
This incident has been thoroughly investigated by the New York State Police, Wellsville Police, Wellsville Central School Administration, Allegany County Threat Assessment Group and the ACSO.
All steps have been taken to address the matter through appropriate resources. The person has been identified and all avenues of appropriate recourse have been utilized.
I understand parents have concerns, and justifiably so. I am fully aware of every detail of this case. That being said, I have two children in the school district and I will be sending them to school tomorrow without hesitation.
