OP-ED: In support of President Trump, Congressman Langworthy, and Linda Fanton

“Protest in truth, not in fiction – that is the lesson of the day”

An OPINION Respectfully submitted, By Alice Stevens, Wellsville NY

I am happy to respond to the rebuttal of Linda Fanton’s original piece outlining Indivisible as a dark money group. Firstly – this is a democracy and dialogue is required for its health. However, truth matters and sadly the few complaining have been misinformed. Senator Chuck Schumer said “we have people going into the Republican Districts and going after these Republicans,” on a live PBS interview dated March 19th 2025.

That’s what Indivisible does. It takes Democrat messaging, recruits outside and local people, and causes a disturbance in communities that overwhelmingly elect Republicans.

Social Security isn’t closing, and Congressman Langworthy and President Trump have guaranteed not only its protection but that with NO Tax on Social Security our seniors will see even more money next year.

Has that stopped Indivisible Activists, Democrat leaders, or liberal Washington ‘talking headsI from lying to the people? Sadly it hasn’t. Protest in truth, not in fiction – that is the lesson of the day. We all owe it to ourselves and the next generation to leave our home, state and nation better off than we found it. That can’t be done when we aren’t all committed to the truth.

Where are the teachers’ unions, the Indivisible volunteers, the Democrat chairmen and electeds demanding that Governor Kathy Hochul rehire the 2,000 illegally fired Corrections Officers? Let me be clear – the people protesting have been silent while 2000 of their neighbors had their healthcare stripped, jobs taken, and were blackballed by the governor of New York for protesting. I have yet to see these groups wave signs about their actual neighbors being fired, and the hypocrisy is deafening.

Record numbers of Americans from every single demographic supported this Congressman and this Administration because we are sick and tired of our tax dollars being taken and seeing nothing in return. Congressman Langworthy has consistently delivered financially for the Southern Tier, and his values reflect the values of this community.

Indivisible is a dark money, national organization that is desperately trying to regain favor in the heartland of America. If you go to their website you can see all the “protests” and fake town halls they have created to show force. You can see the pre-canned phone scripts being shared on 5 Calls website where people can call any member in the country to complain, it doesn’t even have to be their own Representative.

What Linda Fanton expressed is spot on. Majority rules, and we the majority are sick and tired of empty promises. We shouldn’t have waste, fraud or abuse. Government employees should answer to the people we elect to lead them, and the United States Government should be prioritizing Americans first. That is what Congressman Langworthy and President Donald Trump were elected to do.

Look at all they’ve done during the first 100 days of Trump’s presidency. Construction of the border wall has been resumed.  Illegal border crossings have declined to the lowest level. Heinous illegals have been deported.  I agree with requiring voters to provide proof of citizenship to participate in elections.  Illegal aliens should not be getting driver’s licenses and Social Security.  Let them come in legally and get jobs. Anti-semitism on college campuses is being challenged.  Education is returning to the states.  The majority of people who believe that human fetuses have the right to life, should not have their taxes supporting Planned Parenthood and their frivolous abortions.  Our economy is fundamentally sound; with tariffs being imposed, bringing jobs back into the USA. Nearly 7 trillion dollars in investments have been secured leading to the creation of thousands of jobs.

I am truly happy that I voted for Donald Trump and Nick Langworthy, and will continue to stand for them.
