What’s the difference between a grassroots movement and Astroturf? Grassroots win elections.
An OPINION by Linda Fanton, Wellsville
On November 5th, 2024 President Donald Trump was elected by popular vote and the electoral college. Here in New York’s 23rd District, Congressman Nick Langworthy won with overwhelming support, both more votes than Trump and more votes than any Congressional Race in New York’s history. With over 66% and over 280,000 votes its blatantly obvious – the Southern Tier trusts Congressman Nick Langworthy and voted for Donald Trump to be the 47th President of the United States.
Right now there are Democratic Party organizations working around the clock to sow fear and drum up support for failed Democrat ideas. I say failed, because Republicans won control of the White House, Senate and House of Representatives. Completely shut out of power, per the vote of We the People, Democrats and dark money groups like Indivisible are now .
How do we know that Indivisible and the Democratic Party are responsible for these astroturf protests?
- Indivisible is funded in part by the Democrat National Party
- Indivisible has established a network of hyper-activists across the country to throw together protests
- Locally, Democratic Party officials are sharing and leading the events, working with trained Invisible operatives.
- Senator Chuck Schumer said on national television that they are busing in democrats to Republican districts
Are there people who disagree? Obviously! This is a democracy, and we are all welcome and encouraged to have our own, researched opinions. But I caution the activists standing on street corners not to mistake their loud voices as equal to the silent majority. We are sick and tired of politicians promising change and not delivering. We want to end Waste, Fraud and Abuse of our tax dollars. We want a stronger manufacturing base here in the United States. We want dependable and affordable energy to heat our homes and offices. We want inflation to stop eating away at every dollar saved or spent.
Accountability and Accounting are long overdue in Washington. After all, it’s not even their money – it’s ours!
