9:00am update from the NYS Park Police,
From the NYSPP,
Fire lines held last night. Volunteer crews led by New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) Forest Rangers worked throughout the night. Burnout operations on Thursday and Friday were very successful. The fire has burned 5,201 acres and is now 88 percent contained.

Firefighters from state agencies, volunteer fire companies, and Montana will be on suppression efforts today. Those efforts will include bucket drops from New York Air National Guard Chinook helicopters. Chinooks drop up to 2,000 gallons from each bucket.
The Jennings Creek wildfire is primarily in the Sterling Forest State Park and is boxed in by fire lines.

Residents are encouraged to continue to abide by the current statewide burn ban issued by Governor Hochul to prevent additional wildfires from occurring. To reduce fire danger, residents are encouraged to remove leaves and debris from areas close to their homes.
We encourage sharing this information and continuing to follow local official accounts for the most up-to-date and accurate information, including the New York State Park Police Facebook account, which will send out verified information regarding the Jennings Fire.
