If you come to Heritage Days in Angelica for the focus on local history, you are sure to enjoy this year’s program. Sponsored by the Angelica Booster Citizens, the festival takes place in the town square at the center of Park Circle National Historic District.

Starting with the 100-year-old soldier’s monument—placed in Park Circle in 1924 and later moved to Until the Day Dawn Cemetery—the self-guided audio walking tour focuses on “things that aren’t there anymore,” or that have been repurposed.  The Booster Citizens & Angelica Tourism Trek again have partnered to create the eight-stop tour, accessible on your smart phone by scanning a QR code.

The croquet tournament on the unique “roque” court has been a highlight of Heritage Days since the event began in 1969. This year’s competition has 13 two-person teams competing for the championship. Semifinals are set for Saturday with the finals to take place Sunday afternoon.

In addition, the Heritage Days festival will feature:

Full lineup of live music in Park Circle bandstand // Art-craft-antique market // ‘60s Basketball Alumni reunion // Cornhole competition // Colonial Rooms open in Angelica Free Library // “Family Treasures” exhibit in Grange building // Vintage paper dolls display and “Sentimental Hairwork” talk at library // Wagon rides thru Historic District // Theme-basket auction // Festival food including Sunday chicken barbecue.
