Wreaths Across America, Belmont Branch would like to thank the 18 sponsors that took part in the Belmont Tree Decorating Contest. The money raised by the sponsors purchased 21 wreaths to be placed on a veteran’s grave site on 12/16/23.

The winners were Most Creative- East Wind Nursery, Best Theme Illustration- Off Duty, and Most Beautiful Tree-Cheerful Community Hands          

The Belmont branch placed 528 wreaths in the Belmont cemeteries, thanks to volunteers of all ages. The ceremonies took place at noon in each cemetery with a salute and a wreath was placed at the veteran’s monuments with a moment of silence while Taps was played on the trumpet.     

   

Suzie Thomas would like to let everyone know that Wreaths are on sale from now until 01/14/24 for next year’s sponsorship, buy one for $17 and get one free. If you would like to order a wreath reach out to Suzie at the Belmont American Legion post 808. Belfast, Cuba, and Whitesville also take part in wreaths across America, if you would like to help your community start taking part with placing wreaths in your community, please reach out to American Legion post 808 in. Belmont Wreaths Across America would like to thank all the volunteers who made this another successful year.  Thank you to the truck drivers who also donated their time and fuel to drive to Maine and pick up these wreaths, DCF Transport out of Whitesville delivered the wreaths to Allegany County.
