Dashiell Sharpe leads Fillmore Class of 2024

Jenna Austin achieves salutatorian honors

Fillmore Central School is pleased to announce Dashiell Sharpe as the valedictorian and Jenna Austin as the salutatorian of the class of 2024.

Dashiell is the son of Casey Colombo and Jesse Sharpe. Dashiell leads his class with a 98.235 unweighted average. Dashiell has taken advantage of college classes offered at Fillmore and will graduate with 19 college credits.

In high school, Dashiell participated in sports. Dashiell spent two years on the Varsity Volleyball team. Dashiell spent three years in the High School Drama Club with varying roles in Cinderella, Hello Dolly! and The Addams Family. Dashiell was also a member of People Promoting Peace for two years and Frogs for one year. Outside of school, has been involved in a chess club and has been in art classes and piano lessons.

Dashiell was a Notre Dame Club of Rochester Junior of the Year Award Nominee. Dashiell received the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award as well as an English Award from Fillmore’s English department. In the community, Dashiell has volunteered through school groups and his local youth group.

Dashiell has been accepted to SUNY Geneseo, University at Buffalo Honors College, University of Glasgow, and University of Dundee. Dashiell is still deciding where he will attend next year and he plans to pursue a literature-based degree.

Jenna is the daughter of Hillary and Jeff Austin. Jenna earned the salutatorian honor with a 97.639 unweighted average. Jenna has taken advantage of numerous college classes offered at Fillmore and will graduate with 40 college credits. Jenna is a second-year member and Secretary of Fillmore’s chapter of the National Honor Society.

Jenna has participated in sports, clubs and activities throughout her time at Fillmore. Jenna participated in Softball for six years, Volleyball for six years, Cheerleading for two years and Basketball for three years. Jenna received a leadership and career achievement award for Volleyball.

Jenna has been involved in FROGS for three years, Student Council for four years, People Promoting Peace for three years, Band for eight years and Drama Club for three. Jenna has portrayed Portia in Cinderella, Dolly in Hello, Dolly! And Alice in The Addams Family. Jenna is the treasurer of Student Council and the Secretary for People Promoting Peace. Jenna is also her Senior class president and Chief Editor of the FCS Crest.

Outside of school,Jenna participated in Girl’s State. Jenna has also been an employee of 3 Bums Pizza in Houghton for three years.  

Jenna has been accepted to Duquesne University and St. Bonaventure University. Jenna is planning to attend Duquesne University to major in Speech-Language Pathology.
