“Providing necessary items to those who may need them”

From the David A. Howe Library,

The coinless dispensers are located in the main floor accessible bathroom, as well as the lower level restroom. There are smaller caddies located in the youth and auditorium bathrooms as well.

The David A. Howe is only one in a long line of libraries, museums, schools and community centers to begin offering period products for free. However, they are one of just a few to offer such services in the Southern Tier Library System. The Library has a long history of community support when it comes to starting these projects and providing necessary items to those who may need them.

The goal of this project is to help make the library experience more equitable for all users. Recently, the library has been working to improve services and make the facility more comfortable for patron use. Providing free period products is just another way the library can serve the community.  Thanks to outside funding and donations, these products will be freely and discreetly available whenever there is a need.

This project is funded primarily through donations from local business owners and groups. If you would also like to make a contribution to this project, or any other of our great programs or departments, please contact the library.
