An iconic bridge in the heart of the village or Wellsville has finally been cleared for replacement work to begin. Hometown bridge builder, the L.C. Whitford Company, who also constructed other iconic structures like the David A. Howe Library, will be doing the work.
Project Manager Keith Burnham:
“The work consists of removal and replacement of the existing bridge, including new sidewalks, and retaining walls under bridge. The bridge will be closed from April 1st to August 30th.”

Burnham went on to explain that the main concrete beams for this bridge will be fabricated at the L.C Whitford manufactuaring facility in Wellsville. L. C Whitford Company has been in business since 1916 and have built many well known landmarks like the Allegany County Courthouse, the Riverwalk Plaza, and the Tracewell facility in Cuba NY.
