Frederick K. Austin, 67 of State Route 19 passed away Friday (Dec. 15, 2023) at Hart Comfort House in Wellsville.

Born in Cuba, July 8, 1956, he was the son of Kenneth and Margaret Sutterlin Austin. He had resided in Texas and Florida, however spent the majority of his life in this area.

He was a graduate of Belfast High School, and had served his country as a member of the United States Army. He had been employed as an electrician for Redec Electric Corporation.

Fred loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and motorcycle riding.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Surviving are his long time companion, Pamela Shattuck of Belfast, his daughter, Crystal (Steve) Hull of Caneadea, his sons, James (Casey) Fanton of Angelica, and Isaac (Tonya) Austin of Belfast, his sisters, Kathryn (Dana) Klein of Angelica and Karlyn Chalker of Belfast, 10 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

*Services have past* The family will present to receive friends on Friday (Dec. 22, 2023) from Noon until 2 PM at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Avenue in Angelica where a memorial service will follow calling hours at 2 PM, Pastor Ken Stanton will officiate.

All are welcome to attend a luncheon at Oramel Fire Hall following the service.
