Allegany County District Attorney puts Bolivar man behind bars for menacing police

District Attorney-elect Ian Jones: “threats to law enforcement cannot be tolerated”

From the Allegany County District Attorneys Office,

Defendant’s Name:  Robert H. Lytle

Address:  Bolivar, New York       

Charges:      Menacing a Police Officer (D felony);
Resisting Arrest (A misdemeanor)

Court Appearance Date:  December 18, 2023

Proceedings:  Robert Lytle has been sentenced to 5 years in state prison followed by 5 years of post-release supervision following a conviction for Menacing a Police Officer.  At sentencing, 1st Assistant District Attorney Ian Jones argued for the state prison sentencing, stating that threats to law enforcement cannot be tolerated, and that the sentence was necessary for protection of police and the public.
