Alfred State Rock Band members perform in their new room located on the ground floor of the Pioneer Center

ALFRED, NY, October 29, 2023 – The transformation of Pioneer Center continues with the opening of the Rock Band Room. Alfred State Rock Band members have a space to practice and to perform.
“The Rock Bands are an important of our performing arts offerings at the college,” stated Assistant Vice President for Student Affair Spencer Peavey. “This space not only gives them a place to practice but we are excited to use this room for shows and late-night events.”
Currently there are three Rock Band groups on campus. The groups perform regularly at a variety of events on campus like Homecoming and Alfred’s Got Talent. They also are key parts in both the fall and winter concerts put on by the performing arts department.
The room features a stage for performances, storage for the band equipment, and plenty of room for fellow students to enjoy concerts and events in the space.
Peavey continued, “The opening of this space is a continuation of our commitment to serve the needs of our students. It was fun to work with not only the Rock Band but our facilities staff to take a concept and make it into a reality.”
The Rock Band Room is located on the ground floor of the Pioneer Center right next to Pioneer Cuts, the campus barbershop, and The Underground, a multi-purpose gaming arena. The Pioneer Center is also home to the campus fitness center, The Studio, and the Pioneer Lounge.
