Students providing blankets to Wellsville nursing home residents for Christmas

Middle school students, the Salvation Army, and the American Legion partner for a “merry warm Christmas”

Mrs. Green’s 7th and 8th grade FACS classes at Wellsville Secondary School are partnering with the Salvation Army to make Christmas gifts for the local nursing home residents. As their project, the students will be making no-sew tie blankets to donate. Mrs. Green sees this project as having two life-lessons: Volunteering your time is rewarding, and you can make meaningful gifts for others for little money.

Blanket kits have been graciously donated by the Morrison Hayes Unit 702 Wellsville American Legion Auxiliary and various faculty and staff throughout the Wellsville School District.

If interested in donating blanket kits please contact Mrs. Green at the Wellsville Secondary School.

Let’s help make our nursing home residents have a merry warm Christmas.
