Wellsville youth football reaches championship against Springville; Cheer competition in Franklinville

Wellsville Youth Football and Cheerleading have a big weekend ahead of them.

The Pee Wee Football team is heading to the Super Bowl after an inspiring 14-7 win against Franklinville on Saturday.

The Pee Wee players went 3-4 in the regular season, and came out strong after a bye-week in the playoffs. They will face off against the Springville Griffins Pee Wee team at 11 a.m. this Saturday at Vet’s Park in Salamanca. Following Super Bowl Saturday, the Wellsville Youth Cheerleading League will appear in Franklinville for their first competition of the year.

Flag, lead by Stephany Halsey and Kate Simmons will perform at 9:30 a.m.

Pee wee, lead by Heather Gill and Maggie Davis will perform at 11:25 a.m.

Midgets, lead by Sam Holliday will perform at 2:30 p.m.
