Heather Trask has submitted her resignation effective September 30

Perhaps the most important public office in the town of Alma will be vacant as of this week. Heather Trask, elected to the office in 2021, has joined a long list of recently resigned elected officials.
The town government will be holding a special meeting next week to appoint a replacement. From the town of Alma:
“A special meeting was called by the Alma town board to be held on October 3, 2023 at 5:00pm to appoint a town clerk to fill the vacancy. The regular town board meeting will follow at 6:00pm.”
Trask was not willing to discuss the reason or circumstances surrounding her resignation but did indicate that she would be making a more detailed statement soon.
The current town board is led by Supervisor Steve Dickerson with board members Jerry Currier, William Cox, Dave Pye, and Greg Clayson. Pye and Clayson were recently appointed after two board members resigned in tandem in May of 2023.
Currier and Cox are seeking re-election in the upcoming November election.
