Graceful Arts Highlight Graceful Turns in April and May

Tai Chi, Myotherapy, and what’s next at Grace United

As part of the Graceful Arts series at Grace United Church, April and May will highlight graceful turns.  On Tuesday, April 18th, Theresa Brown, Certified Tai Chi Instructor at the Wellsville YMCA presented at Tuesdays with Grace.  She talked about the mind and body health benefits of this ancient practice and led a group of around 30 individuals in some simple movements that are beneficial. Teresa, along with several of her students did a beautiful demonstration featuring 20 movements that tell a story.

On Sunday, April 23rd, Mary Lou Maxon, certified in Myotherapy and exercise, led the Grace United Congregation in chair exercises as Jim Knapp, pianist, played “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing”.  Members have been encouraged to share their gifts and this was an opportunity for Mary Lou to share hers.

A pizza and movie night will take place on Friday, April 28th, at 6:00 pm.  The movie is family-friendly and will feature dancing.  This event will take place at Grace United located at 289 North Main Street in Wellsville. Call the church office at 585-593-5015 if you are interested in attending so they know how much pizza to order. There is no cost to attend.

On Sunday, April 30th, Miss Lauren from the Side Porch Ballet in Almond, will perform a dance with three of her students, Aryanna Khodorkovskaya, Natasha Khodorkovskaya, and Rya Lewis as part of the service.  

On May 6th, Line Dancing with Dale Johnson will be happening at 2:00 pm at the church.  Dale will be teaching the steps.  All are welcome to join in,  If you already are a line dancer, come on out and join in the fun.

Ardent Solutions will present on two of their programs, “Growing Stronger” and “A Matter of Balance” on April 16th for Tuesdays with Grace.  Lunch will be served at 12:30 and the presentation will follow. 

Graceful Turns will end with Anna Wiley leading a session called, “Dance Your Prayers”.  This will take place after the service at 11:00 am.  Sometimes, we cannot find the words that want to pray but we can move our bodies in prayer.
