Dinner at L’Italia to thank those who serve

In the last two years, I’ve witnessed three burial ceremonies that the Post 702 Honor Guard provided service. These volunteers are very good at what they do for a veteran, a family, and ultimately the United States of America. The formal thank you and goodbye, “from a grateful nation,” is always a breathtaking, time stands still while graveside. They are well rehearsed, well dressed, and disciplined while paying last respects. Last year the Honor Guard did an average of one funeral or event per week and were formally thanked for the service on Monday.

On Monday, April 17th, 2023, Morrison Hayes Post 702 American Legion hosted an Honor Guard appreciation dinner at L ’Italia for 25 members that participated in services for deceased veterans during the 2022 year.  46 Military services were done along with 7 miscellaneous services.

During 2022 this crew provided honor and respect to veteran and their family every week!

An Honor Guard is for those veterans that have served in the military and were discharge or released from service by means of an “honorable” or “under honorable conditions” discharge.  It is Morrison Hayes Post 702 American Legion Honor Guard Mission that the Honor Guard is the premier unit for conducting military honor.
