Michael T. Baldwin Reports

A longtime Allegany County ‘law man’ has died. News broke on social media over the weekend of the passing of former Belmont police chief Gary Frisk. Allegany County Sheriff Scott Cicerello confirmed the news Sunday evening. His death was sudden. Frisk was well known to commuters and county workers as “30 means 30.’ He would often call me at WJQZ at 6:50 a.m. with his police report.

After his retirement, Frisk entered the world of politics and served on the Board of Trustees for the village of Belmont. The village website says that Justin Zajiceck is now the ‘Officer of Charge.” He also works with the Wellsville police department. On Facebook, many condolences poured in.
