Reception and Recital set for March 8

Public viewing from March 5- April 1

In celebration of March being National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, The ARC Allegany-Steuben artists have compiled an art exhibit to demonstrate an abundance of artistic styles and images. This exhibition will be open for public viewing at the Wellsville Creative Arts Center from March 5 – April 1. To celebrate, there will be an opening reception featuring the ARC Angles Dancers on Wednesday, March 8 at 10:00am. This event is open to everyone – toast the moment with coffee and refreshments!

ARC Art is a celebration of self-expression by artists with differing abilities. It is an ARC Allegany-Steuben sponsored outlet for artists with special needs to not only express themselves through art, but to raise community awareness of the diversity and value of artistic expression.

“We are honored to have partnered with the Wellsville Creative Arts Center for 16 years to promote disability awareness, and to encourage people with disabilities to explore new activities and discover their inner artist,” says Carrie Redman, Development Director. “ARC Art honors people with disabilities throughout Allegany and Steuben Counties and celebrates their accomplishments by spotlighting the talents of artists with a wide range of physical, cognitive and mental health disabilities.”

Over 20 artists are displaying their work in the ARC Art Exhibition; varied in method and expression as the life experiences of the individual artists.
