Driver in Sunday high-speed crash faces multiple charges

Appearance tickets issued for drunk driving, reckless driving, and criminal contempt

State Police have identified and charged the man accused of being in a high speed chase in the Town of Wellsville Sunday evening. Shawn M. Currier, 36 of Wellsville was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. He allegedly drove at speeds of 90 before crashing his vehicle on the west side of Wellsville.

In addition and just before the chase he was allegedly involved in a domestic dispute in the Town of Clarksville. In that case, he was charged with criminal mischief. In both cases, Currier was issued court appearance tickets.
