Allegany County opens two warming centers due to frigid weather, power outages

The Allegany County Office of Emergency Services is in the process of setting up a shelter and has two two warming centers currently available in the county. Dangerously low temperatures are not expected to abate until after Christmas.

Bonnie VanHousen, Assistant Director of Allegany County Office of Emergency Services made this statement:

“Fillmore Fire Hall and Scio Fire Hall are open for warming centers at this time.  We will have a shelter open approximately 9:30.  I will send more information on the Shelter as soon.”

Also there will be a shelter at the Genesee Valley School opening at 9:30pm tonight(12/23)”
