The last likely ‘really nice Autumn Day’ in the region certainly brought some issues for area emergency responders. On Thursday afternoon, Allegany 911 dispatched Andover, Wellsville, Willing, Whitesville and Alfred Station for a reported outside fire that, according to dispatchers, may include several trailers on fire. Witnesses observed the smoke. However, when police arrived on scene first, they reported there were cars of fire and not any structures. There was plenty of activity…but that was just the beginning.

In Potter County, they also had an active outside fire at 969 Hillside Road in Bingham Township. Help was needed from Willing and Whitesville. Fire officials communicated with Andover and soon realized they were more needed in Potter County…and off they went.

Volunteers were on scene at Tall for a while. Pagers have been reset and are waiting for the next activation. The cause of both fires remains under investigation.
