State Police report in New York and Pennsylvania

Potter County Police Activity

Action is pending by Magisterial District Judge Kari A. McCleaft in a case pending against Reed’s Market in Genesee Township. On November 1st, the store was issued a First Class Summons for the sale of tobacco to a minor. The incident allegedly occurred October 17th. The court is waiting for a plea.

Coudersport based state police responded to Genesee Park in Genesee township for a report of partially burnt identification cards. The investigation is ongoing. Any information should be reported to PSP at 814-274-8690.

Pennsylvania Troopers received a report on an indecent assault on Horn Hollow Road in Austin. Trooper J. Miles said they did investigate a sexual assault; however, the victim did not want to pursue charges and the case was closed.

Troopers at the Coudersport barracks are investigating a burglary on Strait Road in Hector Township. The unoccupied building was forcibly entered between September 5 and October 21. An unknown subject(s) forcefully entered and left personal items behind.

New York State Police Activity

Fillmore-based Troopers investigated a reported protection order violation in the Town of Almond. As a result, state police arrested Daniel M. VanSkiver, 41, of Mount Morris. He was charged with felony first-degree criminal contempt and felony aggravated family offense. He was initially detained.

After an investigation in Wayland, state police arrested Mark Schuyler, 56, of Dansville. He was charged with prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage. He was issued an appearance ticket for court.
