Upstate-focused advocacy organization is dedicated to strengthening business climate

ALBANY, NY – Senator George Borrello, the endorsed candidate of the Republican and Conservative parties for the New York State Senate’s 57th Senate District, announced that he has received the endorsement of Upstate United’s political action committee.

Recognized as the leading advocacy organization for upstate communities and taxpayers, the organization’s mission is to encourage fiscally responsible, pro-growth policies to improve the state’s business climate and upstate economy.

“As a small business owner, I’ve experienced firsthand the struggles of running a business in a state that makes it so costly and difficult to operate,” said Senator George Borrello. “The bottom line is that there are too many legislators in Albany who either don’t understand or don’t care about the impact of their actions. They have no idea what it’s like to run a business and make a payroll.”

“Ultimately, it is the state’s taxpayers and residents that pay steepest price for these harmful policies, in the form of fewer job opportunities, a shrinking tax base and lower quality of life,” Sen. Borrello added.

“Since being elected to the Senate, it has been my mission to advocate for our businesses, including our farms, and to bring more clarity to the unintended consequences that can result from proposals that sound like good ideas on the surface,” said Senator Borrello. “I am grateful for Upstate United’s endorsement of my efforts and for their shared commitment to bringing more prosperity and opportunity to upstate New York.””Upstate United is proud to endorse George Borrello to represent taxpayers in the 57th Senate district. George is a proven fighter for overburdened taxpayers and employers – especially our family farms,” said Justin Wilcox, executive director of Upstate United. “We look forward to working with him in Albany as we fight for the future of Upstate New York.”
