We asked Hanks why, after over a decade of retirement, was planning to get back in the game?

“I actually didn’t. They reached out to me. I had done several schools since retiring from Fillmore but really was not planning on any more. But Andover is where I essentially started my career.”

Hanks explained that he has long been an advocate for Allegany county public schools:

“The rural schools in Allegany County have always been special places. By design my wife and I raised and educated our children in Allegany County.”
